The main objectives of the present work of thesis are the following:
1. Optimization of the synthesis of diiron vinyliminium complexes, taking into account their air and water stability;
2. Synthesis of new diiron vinyliminium complexes with variable substituents, to tune electronic and steric factors with the aim of evaluating the effects of these variations on the anticancer activity;
3. Synthesis of new monoiron vinyl-aminocarbene complexes using an optimized procedure, and preliminary evaluation of their cytotoxicity.
