Riassunto
This research investigates the performance aspect of a promising green bipropellant combination, incorporated within a self-pressurized propulsion concept. Emphasis has been placed on the self-pressurization dynamics within the propellant tanks during the continuous burn phase of a particular mission profile. In sequence, the selection of a suitable mission, preliminary design of the tank attributes, analytical description of the outgoing mass flow rates, and modeling of the internal phase behavior, have been carried out. Numerous iterative evaluations have been conducted, where the assumed design parameters and submodels have been alternatively used. The corresponding influences in the internal vapor pressure characteristics and the resultant deliverable thrust at the tank exit have been observed and compared. Moreover, a temperature-based on/off control of the degrading performances has been demonstrated.
