La tesi ha come oggetto una proposta di riqualificazione del giardino interno di Palazzo Vitelli, edificio storico oggi sede degli Uffici Amministrativi dell'Università di Pisa. Il lavoro è strutturato in tre diverse parti: nella prima, si illustra la storia della città e la sua evoluzione urbanistica, per comprendere quelle che sono state le diverse fasi che hanno portato all'assetto attuale; nella seconda parte, viene analizzata la storia del palazzo e del suo giardino, al fine di poter capire quali sono stati i momenti più importanti nell'evoluzione dell'area; nella terza e ultima parte, infine, si illustra la fase di progetto, dal rilievo dello stato attuale alla definizione della proposta progettuale.

The thesis has as its object a proposal for the redevelopment of the internal garden of Palazzo Vitelli, a historic building that now houses the Administrative Offices of the University of Pisa. The work is structured in three different parts: in the first, the history of the city and its urban evolution is illustrated, to understand the different phases that led to the current structure; in the second part, the history of the palace and its garden is analysed, in order to be able to understand which were the most important moments in the evolution of the area; finally, in the third and final part, the project phase is illustrated, from the survey of the current state to the definition of the project proposal.
