This thesis work aims to find the specification of the European funded project RobLog, in order to better define its scope and scenarios to be tested by all the partners involved. A market analysis of goods incoming in overseas containers, as well as analysis of the economic convenience of an autonomous system able to automatically unload items from containers, are also conducted. An approach for the simplification of the industrial complexity of unloading scenarios is given, in order to enable the application of the state of the art of cognitive systems to the project. In the end hypothesis on hardware architectures to be developed within the project are made and conclusions about the suitability of existing systems to be integrated are given.
