La presente tesi di laurea magistrale nasce dall’idea di voler dimostrare l'importanza ed efficacia che possono rivestire gli interventi e i progetti artistici realizzati in ambito carcerario e legati in particolar modo alla Street Art. Al fine di comprendere meglio il tipo di intervento svolto presso la Casa di Reclusione di Massa, chi scrive ha ritenuto opportuno dedicare il primo capitolo a un’analisi del movimento artistico. Successivamente la Street Art viene esaminata in un’ottica di riscatto sociale. Nel capitolo seguente si analizza la realtà carceraria nazionale, con le sue problematiche e le sue prospettive e, successivamente, l’immenso potere dell’arte applicato a questo delicato contesto. Si prosegue quindi con l’analisi dell’arte terapia e dei suoi mediatori artistici. Nell'ultimo capitolo sono descritti alcuni progetti e interventi artistici riguardanti l’istituto penitenziario di Massa, e, soprattutto, il Progetto Murales, di cui la scrivente è stata tutor, e che è stato realizzato da un detenuto. Viene infine dimostrato come la realizzazione del murales abbia svolto una fondamentale funzione terapeutica.
This master's thesis was born from the idea of ​​wanting to demonstrate the importance and effectiveness that artistic interventions and projects carried out in prisons and particularly linked to Street Art can have. In order to better understand the type of intervention carried out at the Massa Prison, the author has deemed it appropriate to dedicate the first chapter to an analysis of the artistic movement. Subsequently, Street Art is examined from the perspective of social redemption. In the following chapter, the national prison reality is analyzed, with its problems and prospects and, subsequently, the immense power of art applied to this delicate context. We then continue with the analysis of art therapy and its artistic mediators. The last chapter describes some projects and artistic interventions concerning the Massa penitentiary, and, above all, the Murales Project, of which the author was a tutor, and which was created by an inmate. Finally, it is demonstrated how the creation of the mural played a fundamental therapeutic function.
