Riassunto
The majority of clinical decisions in the management of patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) are currently guided by the 2018 Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) staging system and treatment algorithm, along with its 2022 update. The role of intra-arterial procedures is expanding, with Transarterial Radioembolization (TARE) recently integrated into the BCLC framework for the treatment of early-stage HCC (BCLC-0 and BCLC-A).
In clinical practice, however, TARE is frequently utilized in patients with more advanced stages of the disease. This thesis aims to retrospectively analyze all patients with advanced HCC (BCLC-B and BCLC-C) treated with TARE in combination with systemic therapy by the HCC Multidisciplinary Board at the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Pisana. The collected data will be compared with existing literature, with a particular focus on currently available clinical trials.
