La tesi si basa sull’osservazione dei meccanismi termogenici preposti all’aumento della spesa energetica e alla loro regolazione da parte dell’ormone tiroideo, ma anche sugli effetti che questo ormone esercita sull’appetito e quindi sull’introito energetico. Nel complesso si esamina il ruolo dell'ormone tiroideo nella regolazione dell'omeostasi energetica.


The thesis is based on the observation of thermogenic mechanisms responsible for increasing energy expenditure and their regulation by the thyroid hormone, but also on the effects that this hormone exerts on appetite and therefore on energy intake. Overall, the role of thyroid hormone in the regulation of energy homeostasis is examined.
