Summary
The thesis discusses the design, prototyping and validation of a Kubernetes operator for the Iotsnap" microservice IoT platform, developed by Extra Red. This platform is based on the PaaS Red Hat OpenShift. The operator, in addition to allowing the deployment of a complex distributed application, will verify the success of the operation and will include the execution of tests to check the fault-resilience of the various microservices and the analysis of possible failure-cascade scenarios. The candidate had the opportunity to familiarize himself with the most modern automation, scaling and software management techniques in a real context, in reference to an enterprise distribution of the open source containers orchestration system Kubernetes.
