La presente tesi di dottorato analizza e confronta i mezzi linguistici utilizzati per esprimere relazioni spaziali nella lingua tedesca e in quella italiana sulla base di un corpus comparabile. La prima parte del lavoro illustra i presupposti teorico-metodologici; dopo brevi cenni al concetto di spazio in diverse discipline, vengono introdotti alcuni principi della linguistica contrastiva e della linguistica dei corpora ed elencati i maggiori studi contrastivi riguardanti la combinazione linguistica menzionata. Scopi, limiti e procedimento del lavoro concludono questa sezione. La seconda parte descrive sulla base di selezionate grammatiche i mezzi linguistici utilizzati per la resa dello spazio nelle due lingue oggetto di ricerca e termina con la presentazione di alcune osservazioni contrastive. L´analisi empirica dei mezzi individuati nei testi del corpus conclude il lavoro, fornendo dati quantitativi sui mezzi linguistici utilizzati e alcune osservazioni contrastive di carattere funzionale, semantico e sintattico. Le appendici, oltre a una più esaustiva bibliografia degli studi contrastivi, contengono in forma tabellare i dati del corpus analizzati.

This PhD dissertation analyzes and compares the linguistic devices used to express spatial relations in German and Italian based on a comparable corpus. The first part of the paper presents the theoretical and methodological assumptions; after introductory remarks on the concept of space in different disciplines, it introduces some principles of contrastive linguistics and corpus linguistics and lists the major contrastive studies concerning the above mentioned language combination. Purposes, limits and procedures of the work conclude this section. The second part describes through selected grammars the linguistic devices that these two languages employ for describing space and it ends with the presentation of some contrastive remarks. The empirical analysis of those devices in the texts of the corpus concludes the work by providing quantitative data on the use of the linguistic means and some functional, semantic and syntactic contrastive remarks. The appendices, as well as a more exhaustive bibliography of contrastive studies, contain the analyzed corpus data.

Die vorliegende Doktorarbeit analysiert und vergleicht die sprachlichen Mittel der deutschen und der italienischen Sprache zur Raumverbalisierung anhand eines vergleichbaren Korpus. Der erste Teil enthält die theoretischen und methodologischen Voraussetzungen; nach einem Überblick des Raumbegriffes anhand von unterschiedlichen Disziplinen werden einige Grundsätze der Kontrastiven Linguistik und der Korpuslinguistik kurz erläutert und die wichtigsten kontrastiven Studien für das betroffene Sprachpaar aufgelistet. Ziele, Grenzen und Vorgehen der Arbeit schließen diese Sektion ab. Der zweite Teil beschreibt anhand ausgewählter Grammatiken die sprachlichen Mittel zur Raumverbalisierung der zwei betroffenen Sprachen. Im Anschluss werden die ersten vergleichenden Bemerkungen präsentiert. Die empirische Analyse der in den Korpustexten enthaltenen Mittel schließt diese Arbeit ab und liefert quantitative Daten über die eingesetzten Sprachmittel sowie einige kontrastive Bemerkungen über funktionale, semantische und syntaktische Aspekte. Neben einer ausführlicheren Bibliographie der kontrastiven Studien enthalten die Anhänge in tabellarischer Form die analysierten Korpusdaten.
