This thesis aims to illustrate and analyze the recent studies and research on the relationship between the ACE2 receptor (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme 2) and the SARS-CoV-2 virus, describing how the first is fundamental for entry of the virus inside the host organism. In addition, the various drugs already approved will also be taken into consideration, that potentially could be used to counter this phase of the life cycle of the virus and its proliferation in the host organism. This type of approach in drug discovery is defined "repurposing" and will be described in detail, highlighting the methodologies and the potential of this strategy in the fight against CoVid-19.
