Riassunto
This dissertation examines the effects of students, schools and country characteristics on the resilient students in Turkey. We explore the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) with a lens informed by equality of educational opportunity. This study assumes that the resilient students represent a direct measure of educational inequality. The aim is to demonstrate the possible negative correlation between resilient students and their determinants. Composition of resilient students
relies on the disadvantaged resilient student with high academic achievement and disadvantaged resilient student with average academic achievement. Linear probability model with clustered standard errors is performed on 10.442 students in 2012 and
2015. The immigration status of students and students’ fathers who are employed have a massive negative effect on the resilient students. Moreover, policy instructions and implications argued under the six policy area with determinants of resilient
students. The overall results assert that educational inequality increases in Turkey.
Educational policymakers might consider the individual student characteristics to provide an appropriate policy.
