Riassunto
Flow-induced vibrations of Steam Generator tubes are a major concern in nuclear power plants due to operation and safety issues. Indeed, although a tube bundle is correctly designed for nominal
conditions, its vibratory behaviour may sensibly change during its life. Therefore, reliable evaluation of the vibratory risk in steam generators due to the secondary fluid flow, is required covering many different operation configurations. The software package THYC/GeViBus has been developed by the R&D division of EDF Company with this purpose.
The aim of this work is to contribute to the validation of the package by comparing numerical
simulations with the results of an experimental campaign. Tubes RMS displacement has been calculated by processing the experimental data, and then compared to the result of THYC/GeViBus simulations.
