La ricerca si pone l'obiettivo di analizzare i carmi di Saffo e Alceo in una prospettiva storico-antropologica, grazie alla quale è possibile porre a confronto gli elementi testuali con i temi antropologici legati alla nozione di identità e alla dimensione rituale. Dai testi emerge la consapevolezza da parte dei poeti di riconoscersi in una doppia identità: una identità comune lesbia e forme di identità locali e familiari, queste ultime connesse con specifiche poleis. L'esistenza di queste forme di identità si manifesta concretamente nei riferimenti a diverse collettività ricostruibili per Lesbo, in costante dialogo fra loro. La costruzione dell'identità di questi gruppi sociali si fonda sull'adesione dei loro membri al culto di una o più divinità: nel santuario di Messon tutti i Lesbi si incontrano e celebrano il culto comune dedicato alla triade composta da Hera, Zeus e Dioniso; nel contesto locale di Mitilene, le donne della cerchia di Saffo compiono azioni rituali in onore di Afrodite, e anche l'intero γένος della poetessa riconosce nella dea la sua protettrice. Pertanto, la consapevolezza di appartenere a un gruppo sociale più o meno esteso si riflette nella dimensione del rito, in particolare nella partecipazione condivisa a occasioni festive e nel compimento di azioni rituali. A partire dai frammenti, sono presentate delle ipotesi di ricostruzione di alcuni contesti di culto, nei quali era previsto anche l'utilizzo di oggetti rituali da parte dei partecipanti.

The aim of this research is the analysis of the poems of Sappho and Alcaeus in a historical-anthropological perspective, through which it is possible to compare the textual elements with the anthropological themes linked to the notion of identity and to the ritual dimension. The analysis of the texts shows that Lesbian poets knew well that they had a double identity: a common Lesbian identity and local and family forms of identity, which were connected with specific poleis. The existence of these forms of identity manifestes itself in the references to different Lesbian collectivities, that were in constant dialogue with each other. The construction of the identity of these social groups is based on the adhesion of their members to the worship of one or more divinities: in the sanctuary of Messon all the Lesbians meet and celebrate the common worship dedicated to the Lesbian triad, which was composed of Hera, Zeus and Dionysus; in the local context of Mytilene, the women of Sappho's circle perform ritual actions in honor of Aphrodite, and the entire γένος of the poetess also recognizes the goddess as its protector. Therefore, the awareness of belonging to a more or less extensive social group is reflected in the dimension of the rite, in particular in the shared participation in festive occasions and in the performance of ritual actions. Starting from the fragments, hypotheses for the reconstruction of some contexts of worship have been presented. In these contexts, the use of ritual objects by the participants was also foreseen.
