Riassunto
The purpose of this study is to compare the accuracy of two different tracking system for augmented reality in industrial workspaces, working on a portable devices.
The first system, uses of Markerfield, that is a structure well known in Augmented reality scope.
The second one is a new hybrid system that uses the reference point naturally present in the workspace and it was designed for the purpose of this study.
The first step of this study has been the research on the current state of the art. Some previous works have proven useful to implement, improve and fix the problems of both method.
Then, the tester has prepared a working application for each method, and some test workspaces.
After the two applications have been implemented, the systems have been tested to compare the respective accuracies.
The tester has performed various type of test, many times, to get many measurement, and to obtain the everage values that denote the accuracy of each method.
As final result, in some cases the hybrid system provides better results, in other cases the markerfield is better.
Each method is the most suitable to provide augmented reality in a specified workspace end for a specified kind of work.
