Riassunto
The muon anomalous magnetic moment has shown a significant discrepancy between measurement and prediction of the Standard Model (SM) for more than 20 years. This discrepancy could be compelling evidence of physics beyond the SM.

The comparison of the muon g-2 with the SM theory prediction is currently limited by the present tensions in the evaluation of the leading-order hadronic contribution to the muon anomaly. The KLOE experiment has provided one of the most precise measurements of the leading contribution to the hadronic component of the anomaly, through the precise measurement of e+e- two-pion cross section. However, there are tensions between measurements from KLOE and BABAR, which need to be clarified.

This Thesis aims at laying the foundation of the upcoming KLOE analysis (KLOE23) of e+e- two-pion cross section, using the full KLOE statistics. It focuses on three relevant aspects of the KLOE23 analysis: The Monte Carlo event generator of the process e+e- -> pion-pion-photon, the background rejection, and the correction of the invariant mass spectrum for distorsions due to detector effects. In view of the projected improvement in accuracy of KLOE23, new analysis techniques have been compared with the old KLOE procedures.

To prevent biases from previously obtained results, a common practice in the field of particle physics is to "blind" the analysis. The last section of the Thesis is therefore dedicated to a possible blinding procedure for KLOE23.
