La tesi compara alcune opere filosofiche pubblicate nella seconda metà del Novecento. La prima parte dello scritto pone l’accento sul rapporto tra sesso e genere considerando, nello specifico, il pensiero di Simone de Beauvoir, Monique Wittig e Judith Butler. In particolare, vengono approfondite le tematiche trattate nei seguenti testi: Il secondo sesso, Il pensiero eterosessuale, Questioni di genere. De Beauvoir analizza vari aspetti della situazione femminile sia nel presente che nel passato. Wittig si concentra maggiormente sui rapporti tra uomini e donne in seno all'eterosessualità. Butler, infine, annulla la distinzione tra sesso e genere. La seconda parte, invece, si concentra sulla concezione del potere da parte di Foucault e Mieli. In questa sezione, i testi di riferimento sono: La volontà di sapere, Elementi di critica omosessuale. Mieli denuncia il carattere repressivo del potere sull’Eros, mentre secondo Foucault la forma repressiva del potere nasconde le sue vere caratteristiche, poiché in realtà la sua funzione è produttiva.

The thesis compares a number of philosophical works published in the second half of the 20th century. The first part of the paper emphasises the relationship between sex and gender by considering, specifically, the thought of Simone de Beauvoir, Monique Wittig and Judith Butler. In particular, the issues addressed in the following texts are explored: The Second Sex, Heterosexual Thought, Gender Issues. De Beauvoir analyses various aspects of the female situation both in the present and in the past. Wittig focuses more on the relations between men and women within what she calls 'heterosexual society'. Butler, finally, erases the distinction between sex and gender. The second part, on the other hand, focuses on Foucault and Mieli's conception of power. In this section, the reference texts are: The Will to Know, Elements of Homosexual Critique. Mieli denounces the repressive character of power over Eros, while according to Foucault, the repressive form of power conceals its true characteristics, since in reality its function is productive.
