In the face of the problems that have so far emerged, it is urgent to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle, in line with relevant national and European regulations, in order to reduce the quantity of waste produced, encouraging separated collection thus increasing the production of secondary raw materials that can be re-marketed for the production of other goods, thereby safeguarding the quality of the environment. The solution to the waste problem can, therefore, be found in the implementation of the so-called circular economy model which consists in identifying waste as potential food resources through the selection and recovery of the individual nutrients to be reused in the human, animal and vegetable food industry, the recovery of non-edible materials to be recycled and used in the industrial sector, but above all, in awakening the social conscience of people, in reducing waste, sharing resources and protecting the environment.
