Summary
The impeachment process was a British invention that developed and reached its peak in the United States, where it is used to sanction all civil officers which commit treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors. From Nixon to Clinton and to Trump finally, impeachment has changed its shape, becoming the most preferred instrument for political opponents to make pressure on the President and mine its stability.
