Il presente lavoro nasce con l’intenzione di proporre la traduzione di alcune delle fábulas di Luis Goytisolo, raccolte tutte insieme per la prima volta nel 2016 dalla casa editrice Anagrama nel volume El atasco y demás fábulas.
La ragione che mi ha portato a scegliere le fábulas, è stata appunto quella di voler analizzare e scoprire un tratto più nascosto dell’autore. Lo scrittore, famoso per la sua immensa opera Antagonía, da sempre con la sua scrittura ha voluto raccontare la Spagna in cui vive e che si trasforma con l’incedere del tempo. Tutto ciò accade anche nelle sue ‘favole’: scritte parallelamente alla stesura di Antagonía, ci consegnano in una forma breve degli aneddoti realistici della società. Attraverso uno sguardo obiettivo ci mostra il bene e il male presente nel mondo e siamo proprio noi lettori che dobbiamo sviluppare gli strumenti e la sensibilità per capire il comportamento da assumere nella vita quotidiana.
Il capitolo che precede la traduzione è un commento sulle scelte traduttive volte a consegnare al lettore italiano il tema principale della raccolta, vale a dire la realtà frammentata in cui viviamo con tutti i suoi pregi e i suoi difetti. Evidenzierò nel commento le difficoltà che ho incontrato, portando all’attenzione esempi per chiarire le mie scelte traduttive e gli sforzi fatti per mantenere quanto più possibile l’essenza del testo originale, fattore imprescindibile in un lavoro traduttivo.


The present work was born with the intention of proposing the translation of some of Luis Goytisolo's fábulas, gathered together for the first time in 2016 by the Anagrama publishing house in the book El atasco y demás fábulas.
The reason that led me to choose those fabulas, has been the aim of analyzing and discovering a more hidden trait of the author. The writer, famous for his majestic work Antagonía, wrote about of the history of Spain with its changes with the passing of time. All this happens also in his fábulas: written in parallel to the writing of Antagonía, they deliver us in a short form and through realistic anecdotes, a realistic picture of Spain, and also of the world.
Through an objective look, he shows us the good and the bad present in the world and, it’s the readers, who must develop the tools to understand it.
The chapter that precedes the translation is a commentary on the translation choices aimed at delivering to the Italian reader the main theme of the collection, that is to say the fragmented reality in which we live with all its strengths and weaknesses. I will highlight in the commentary the difficulties I have encountered, bringing examples to clarify my translational choices and efforts made to maintain as much as possible the essence of the original text, an essential factor in a translational work.
