This work of thesis is aimed at developing a Model Predictive Control algorithm able to constrain the rotor stress and control the power generated by a Concentrated Solar Plant steam turbine. An analysis of the open-loop model was conducted, with particular attention to the methods of integration of ordinary differential equations. To perform the closed-loop simulations, it was used the algorithm “MPC CODE”, developed in the CPClab within the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering of the University of Pisa, written in Python. In this work, various cases have been analyzed including the use of collocation methods to solve the dynamic optimization problem.
