Summary
The aim of this thesis work is to investigate the most relevant parameters evaluating the impact of the integration of the Parcel Robot(PR500, owned by IntechLog) in the logistic process of unloading trailer, with the aim of identifying the most suitable scenario in which investing in the Parcel Robot technology would have a shorter Discounted Payback Period. Completing and combining the data coming from a real customer and IntechLog’s knowledge of the Parcel Robot technology, a method for the development of a detailed parametric excel sheet is proposed: such tools is used for evaluating the economic relevance of implementing the PR500 technology at the customer’s site. Then, exploiting the potentiality of the excel tool, a sensitivity analysis is conducted in order to investigate which parameters are most relevant for obtaining a shorter Discounted Payback Period from the investment in the PR500 technology. Finally conclusions about the best suitable scenario are given in order to take the maximum advantage of the Parcel Robot integration in the logistic process of unloading containers.
