Summary
The thesis work is organized in three main parts: the comparison between the CAD 3D models of the ITER WCLL Water Cooling System;
the creation of the nodalization of the Water Loop to perform the steady-state calculation with the use of Relap5/Mod3.3 code.
The Loss of Flow Accident transient analysis, also performed with Relap5/Mod3.3 code.
The aim of the comparison between the CAD 3D models is to highlight the main geometrical and layout differences between
the Water Cooling System e the Water Loop facility.
The parameters chosen to put in comparison are: the pipe length, the number of 90deg bends, the pipe diameters,
the number and relative position of the valves. All these data are collected in tables and in the so- called radar charts, to give a synoptic view of the differences that turn out from the comparison.
In the second part of the work a nodalization of the Water Loop is created to perform a steady-state calculation
with the use of Relap5/mod3.3 Sys-TH code and to carry out a comparison with the design TH parameters.
In the last part of the thesis it is performed a transient analysis, with the use of Relap5 code,
supposing a Loss of Flow Accident with the aim of study the temperature time trend in the ciruit during the postulated accident
scenario.
