Abstract: The developed job concerns the analysis and the adaptation of a commercial steering system for its following implementation in a vehicle simulator. This simulator will be used for developing a system able to detecting fatigue states of a driver through the movements analysis of the steering wheel and the torque applied to the same. An accurate bibliographical search has represented the first footstep of this job. Particularly problem list have been deepened related to the interface of the steering system with the other components of the simulator, to the acquisition of the signals and the return of strength of the steering wheel. Subsequently, to begin the debugging of the system, has been projected and realized a frame to support of the steering gear with the tie to respect its real geometry of assemblage. The sizing of the frame has been effected through the F.E.M.. An analytical study has been realized to evaluate the torque to the steering wheel on a real vehicle versus the course to vary some geometry of the suspension and the tire strengths. The results of this study have allowed to realize a model of suspension and steering gear, by software Simulink, able to be interlace with a model of vehicle running in real-time mode. The geometric data that detect the position of the characteristic points of the suspension shake, has been calculated developing a multibody model ADAMS and imported in the aforesaid model Simulink. Through the gotten results, it has also been verified and realized a passive feedback by two springs.
