Riassunto
This work presents a successful industrial application of the machine vision technology for the automatic inspection of half-shaft in an assembly line.

The visual inspection system developed has seven cameras that were integrated into an inspection cell, which have the capacity to cover a large part of the surface of the object to be inspected. Using the data acquisition board, it is possible to send all the scenes captured by the camera to the vision software installed on the PC, where the various processing and analysis techniques will be carried out. For the development of the vision algorithms was taking into account the requeriments and needs of the different features of components and accesories of half-shaft. These features consists in pattern recognitions, dimensional inspection, absence of elements or defects inspection as damages, fissures, bumps or any others.

The vision software was based on VisionPro platform from Cognex. This software presents potential tools for image acquisition, as well as its processing and analysis. In addition, its interoperability capability with .NET framework facilitates the development of customizable vision software.
