Con questa tesi si è voluto ricostruire il pensiero dell'economista svedese Knut Wicksell, in Italia poco conosciuto. Partendo dai primi scritti neo-malthusiani e di critica alla Chiesa svedese si arriva fino all'opera più famosa di Wicksell "Il principio di giusta tassazione" in cui si vede la sua nuova teoria imperniata sul fatto che un individuo può prendere le sue decisioni politiche nella stessa maniera con cui le prende nel mercato.
Questa idea per l'epoca rivoluzionaria verrà poi riscoperta e sviluppata da James Buchanan, padre della public choice theory.

With this thesis, I wanted to reconstruct the thought of the Swedish economist Knut Wicksell, not well known in Italy. Starting from the first neo-Malthusian writings and criticism of the Swedish Church,the thesis finally arrived to discuss Wicksell's most famous work "The principle of just taxation" in which we see his new theory based on the fact that an individual can make his political decisions in the same way it takes them on the market.This revolutionary idea will then be rediscovered and developed by James Buchanan, father of public choice theory.
