La tesi presenta la traduzione di alcuni capitoli del saggio di Michael Cronin "Translation in the Digital Age". Nella prima parte della tesi si trova la traduzione e un capitolo in cui espongo dubbi, problemi e considerazioni traduttologiche scaturiti nel corso del lavoro. Nella seconda parte si trovano degli approfondimenti sul ruolo in cui si situa la traduzione in seguito all’avvento delle nuove tecnologie dell’informatica e di internet, e agli effetti della globalizzazione sulla traduzione.

This thesis essentially consists of two parts. The first part contains the partial translation into Italian of the essay Translation in the Digital Age by Michael Cronin. The second one includes a commentary on the translation and its contents (Chapter 1) and two more chapters (Chapter 2 and 3) where I introduce and analyse some selected topics from Cronin’s essay.
The aim of this work is to present a general view of the state of translation and languages in our age, starting from Michael Cronin’s suggestions. I especially consider phenomena such as the advent of the internet and information technology, globalization and multilingualism, and their influence on translation practice and global language questions.
