Summary
This thesis presents Tcp_gen, a TCP traffic generator which is able to create real TCP streams. The stream to be created can be customized by specifying IP addresses, MAC addresses, Port numbers, payload, maximum segment size.
Tcp_gen has been written in C++ with some features of the new standard C++11.
Moreover, we create TCP connections carrying specific signatures in the payload in order to test a deep packet inspection system like Snort.
