Riassunto
This work concerns the formulation and the validation of a model to simulate the grasping of an innovative type of industrial gripper. The innovation lies in the use of elastic components as grasping surface. In this way, the gripper can adapt to different shapes. The simplicity of the working principle and the possibility to grasp object of different shapes make this type of gripper very promising for industrial purposes.
The thesis also involved the design of a bench test, required to validate the model in terms of position of the object and forces during the grasping. Moreover, the acquisition of data from the test bench needed a focus on video detection techniques. In this field, a simple and effectiveness approach is showed.
