Riassunto
This dissertation presents the dataflow execution model and reviews recent dataflow-based projects. In particular the fulcrum of this dissertation is the Scheduled Dataflow Architecture (SDF), a multithreaded hybrid controlflow/dataflow architecture. This thesis extends SDF with several new features, including mini-threads, shared and synchronized registers. The primary motivation for these extension is the desire to support Decoupled Software Pipelining technique within SDF paradigm. Quantitative results uses several benchmark programs to show the benefits of the the new extensions are presented.
