The problem of electrification in rural areas is often solved with decentralized solutions such as minigrids. These are very often based on low-performance and highly polluting energy sources, such as coal and lignite. The interconnection with the market is often not taken into consideration due to the high costs that derive from it.
This thesis aims to analyze the multi-year optimal sizing of the set of multiple hybrid mini-grids, with particular attention to possible interconnections, both at a high level with the national network, and at a lower level through a radial network of interconnection between the various areas.
The sizing will follow the economic criterion of maximizing the Net Present Value.
