Riassunto
This thesis dissertation focuses on the analysis concerning the integration of a micro camera in an implantable capsule for the gastrointestinal tract exploration that allows to acquire sufficiently detailed images. After a first introduction to the problem concerning the main requirements for a functional endoscopy, the main constraints regarding this application are presented.
In this work, after the definition of the decision criteria, I selected among some commercial solutions the hardware needed for the first functional prototype, describing the main characteristics of each component. The first prototype is developed using the available dev board for both the FPGA module and the microcontroller. I have designed and tested a Verilog digital system capable of recovering and decoding the camera module output data stream. Once the data are decoded, I have used a Microcontroller to sample and display the acquired images.
After the completion of the first working prototype, a PCB with a dimension compatible with the capsule application is designed.
