L’elaborato di tesi presentato ripercorre l’esperienza lavorativa che ho intrapreso presso l’azienda Horsa Way S.r.l., iniziata prima come tirocinante e proseguita in qualità di apprendista. All’interno di Horsa Way ho avuto l’opportunità di essere inserito nel team di progetto che si è occupato dell’introduzione di Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in un’azienda del settore dei trasporti e logistica, Trasporti S.r.l., il cui core business è l’erogazione di servizi di trasporto merci a società terze. Il progetto ha comportato lo sviluppo di un’estensione completamente custom ed integrata con il sistema ERP di base per poter supportare l’operatività dell’azienda cliente, appartenente ad un’industry con esigenze specifiche non coperte dalla versione base di Business Central.
L’obiettivo del progetto è completare la migrazione dell’azienda Trasporti S.r.l. dal precedente software gestionale verticale a Business Central, includendo l’applicazione verticale sviluppata appositamente per l’azienda.
La complessità del progetto è stata determinata principalmente dalle necessità specifiche di Trasporti S.r.l. in base alle quali sono state definite le specifiche software e le logiche di sistema dell’applicazione verticale per il settore trasporti e logistica.
Il mio contributo è stato determinante per riuscire a completare le fasi di testing delle customizzazioni sviluppate, dell’erogazione del training agli utenti di Trasporti S.r.l e del supporto post go live.

This thesis work describes the job path I followed inside Horsa Way S.r.l., an ICT Italian company and software house, started as a three-month internship.
In Horsa Way I had the opportunity to take part to the project team that had to install Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in Trasporti S.r.l., an italian company belonging to the transport and logistics industry that provides freight transport services to its customers.
The project of the implementation of Business Central inside Trasporti S.r.l. included the develop of an application for the transport and logistics industry, based on the specific company’s requirements that the standard version of the Microsoft ERP system did not meet.
The project’s goal is to complete the migration from the old system implemented in Trasporti S.r.l. to Business Central, including the specific application designed to support the business activities of the company.
Project’s complexity was due to the specific needs of Trasporti S.r.l. that determined the software requirements of the transportation application that Horsa Way had to develop.
In this context, as part of the team project, I had to take part to many activities, such as testing of the customizations developed and integrated with Business Central, users’ training, and support after the go live data.
