Il presente elaborato è costituito dalla traduzione e dal commento al romanzo Mütter dello scrittore austriaco Karl Heinrich Waggerl e si articola in quattro capitoli.
Dopo una generale introduzione su vita, opere e contesto storico-culturale nel quale l’autore si trova a operare, analizzo le figure femminili che costituiscono il fulcro narrativo attorno al quale l’autore costruisce il romanzo. La seconda parte del mio elaborato è incentrata sulla tecnica narrativa dell’autore e in particolare sull’uso dell’umorismo. Concludo il mio elaborato con alcune considerazioni sul concetto di Heimat e sull’influenza che la Heimatliteratur ha esercitato su Karl Heinrich Waggerl.

The present essay consists of the translation and commentary on the novel Mütter by the Austrian writer Karl Heinrich Waggerl and is divided into four chapters.
After a general introduction on life, works and historical-cultural context in which the author lives and works, I analyze the female characters that constitute the narrative fulcrum around which the author builds the novel. The second part of my commentary is focused on the author's narrative technique, and in particular on the use of humor. I conclude my paper with some considerations on the concept of Heimat and on the influence that Heimatliteratur has exerted on Karl Heinrich Waggerl.
