Summary
The main aim of this PhD thesis is to provide a homogenous set of data concerning the principal properties of soils and deposits that are needed in order to define their geotechnical and hydrological characteristics, by means of an extensive field campaign of in situ measurements and laboratory measures. These kinds of data in a regional context are useful in order to: i) determine the ranges of variation of the geotechnical and hydrogeological parameters that control landslide triggering mechanisms, ii) subsequently individuate the areas of the study sites where critical hydrogeological hazard situations should rise. The data obtained have been studied in order to evaluate the relationships existing among the different parameters and the bedrock lithology. The final aim of testing the ability of the models to predict shallow landslide occurrence in response of an intense meteoric precipitation.
