This work of thesis consisted in the synthesis of new diiron bridging thiocarbyne complexes with potential anticancer activity. Starting from complex [Fe2Cp2(CO)3CSMe][CF3SO3] a variety of derivatives were synthesized substituting one or both terminal CO ligands. Mixed complexes containing one phosphine and one isocyanide were prepared with the intent of creating an appropriate balance between hydrophilicity and lipophilicity, that is an important requisite for a potential drug. Behaviour of all these complexes in aqueous solutions was evaluated for the first time.
