Riassunto
The aim of the present thesis work is to delineate and explore alternative methods for the reconstruction of the sonic log by means of Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) techniques using only while drilling parameters or real time drilling data that are always acquired during a well log acquisition.

Sonic logging is used for many aims, especially for formation evaluation employing the use of DT compressional (that allows to determine the porosity), for the tie in with the seismic acquisition pre drill and for the indirect determination of pore pressure inside the layer of great importance for the safety of the well. Sometimes due to budget and operational problems such as the excavation of deviated hole, sonic is not acquired or not along all the extension of the well.

Machine learning techniques such as Linear Regression, K – Nearest Neighbors, Decision Tree and Random Forest and Deep Learning techniques such as Convolutional Neural Network and Time Convolutional Neural Network have been considered to predict sonic logs, developing data-driven models from existing drilling data.
The goal of this thesis is to use Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques to make data-driven models and compare the efficiency of the predicted logs generated with the two techniques.
