Il presente lavoro di tesi magistrale si pone come obiettivo principale la proposta di traduzione in italiano dell'opera "500 ans de résistance autochtone" partendo da un'analisi contrastiva di due testi: il testo originale in inglese e la sua traduzione francese. Per far questo si è cercato di mediare tra due approcci contrapposti: sourcier e cibliste, cercando di trovare un equilibrio che rendesse conto al contempo dell’alterità e delle esigenze del lettore target. Alla traduzione è stata affiancata un’introduzione che propone una panoramica generale sul tema del fumetto e della sua traduzione, e un commento esplicativo attraverso il quale sono state presentate le maggiori difficoltà incontrate in traduzione.
The main objective of this master's thesis is to propose the translate of Gord Hill's work "500 ans de résistance autochtone" into Italian, starting from a contrastive analysis of two texts: the original English text and its French translation. In order to do this, I tried to mediate between two different translation approaches: sourcier and cibliste, trying to find a balance that would simultaneously account for otherness and the needs of the target reader. The Italian translation is accompanied by an introduction offering a general overview of comics and their translation, and an explanatory commentary through which I presented the major difficulties encountered in the translation process.
