Il lavoro è strutturato in maniera semplice. Inizieremo con la trattazione del calcio giocato: introduzione delle strutture e delle competizioni e storia e tendenze dei risultati a partire dagli anni Novanta, analizzati principalmente ponendo l'attenzione sui "percorsi" passati, attuali e futuri effettuati ed effettuabili da parte delle federazioni nazionali. Seguirà un secondo capitolo che invece tratterà, dopo un breve excursus storico, quali sono i meccanismi e le fonti che compongono i risultati extracalcistici delle società, ovvero quelli economici e finanziari, anche qui in un'ottica che pone attenzione alle fortune ed alle realtà proprie delle differenti federazioni. Questa analisi per federazioni aiuta così a effettuare confronti e quadri generali che mettano in luce le situazioni italiane e la possano confrontare con quelle proprie degli altri Stati. Infine, il terzo capitolo metterà insieme i primi due capitoli cercando sostanzialmente di rispondere alla seguente domanda: quanto è stretto il rapporto fra risultati sportivi e risultati economici e finanziari in una società calcistica di vertice oggi? Vedremo che la somma fra i due parametri darà risultati molto variegati.

The work has a simple structure. It begins dealing with football played on the field: introduction to structures and competitions and to the story and tendencies of outcomes from the Nineties, mainly construed through paying attention to past, present and future "routes" traveled by each national federation. The work continues with a second chapter, beginning with a short historical digression and dealing with the processes and sources that settle results outside the playing field, that is economic and financial results. It's dealed paying again attention to the fortunes and actuality of the different national federations. This analysis structured for national federations helps to compare and to have an overview that spots Italian reality among European and world football. At last, the third chapter links the first and the second ones trying to answer the following question: how close is the connection between sport and economic upshot in a top football club of the 2010's? We will discover that the combination of these two parameters give a very huge range of outcomes.
