The subject of the present thesis is the design of the main landing gear of an innovative<br>aircraft in the framework of the PARSIFAL project.<br>The aim is the definition of a landing gear configuration satisfying all specific requirements<br>of a future PrandtlPlane civil transport aircraft, including the introduction<br>of electromechanical actuation.<br>The design methodology adopted makes use of dynamic modelling and multibody<br>simulation from the very first stages, with the aim of providing efficient and reliable<br>tools for a preliminary sizing, and early evaluation of performances and dynamic loads.<br>Simulations are carried out by integrating a commercial multibody code and specifically<br>developed dynamic models of aircraft and systems.<br>The results obtained will allow to easily adapt the landing gear to the final configurations<br>and weights of the aircraft. In addition, the models and tools developed<br>in this work can be used for the evaluation of ground loads to be considered in the<br>airframe structural design, and for takeoff and landing simulations when designing the<br>flight control system.
