Riassunto (Italiano)
This thesis covers one of the main problems of battery electric vehicles (BEVs): the limited range. One of the solutions involves reducing overall aerodynamic drag, which can be achieved in various ways. The work continues an earlier one named “Numerical Investigations on Aerodynamic Drag Reduction through Ducts in a BEV”. It involves mitigating drag by optimizing ducts that take advantage of the different internal morphology of the electric vehicle. The BEV model is provided by Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. The ducts are designed and parameterized with Dassault Systèmes CATIA V5®. Other software tools used are BetaCAE Ansa®, Simcenter STAR-CCM+®, and modeFRONTIER®.
