Questa tesi vuole affrontare il tema letterario dell’infanticidio, nello specifico della madre che uccide i propri figli sul modello della Medea di Euripide, in alcuni film e testi di epoca contemporanea diversi per genere e per struttura. La tesi si propone di cogliere le profonde motivazioni che portano la madre a compiere il gesto delittuoso, gli aspetti che caratterizzano l’infanticidio e la figura stessa della madre infanticida, cercando anche delle corrispondenze o delle distanze tra le opere scelte.

This thesis aims to address the literary theme of infanticide, specifically of the mother who kills her own children on the model of Euripides' Medea, in some contemporary movies and texts that differ in genre and structure. The thesis aims to understand the profound reasons that lead the mother to commit the criminal act, the aspects that characterize the infanticide and the figure of the infanticide mother herself, also looking for correspondences or distances between the chosen works.
