Riassunto analitico
This thesis has been developed during the candidate’s Eramsus experience from October 2014 until April 2015 in iwb laboratory of the Technical University of Munich.
A new approach to energy storage systems is required to establish global energy policies based on a shift towards intermittent renewable power. This work deals with devices that store energy in an electrochemical form and convert it into electricity. There are many ES battery systems because they have to meet different mechanical and electrical requirements related to different applications. The customization of these devices brings advantages like the improvement of power quality and reliability, reduce transmission losses and decrease environmental impacts. On the other hand, disadvantages are in particular related to the absence of a standardized assembly process. This work develops a method to find a preliminary assembly strategy able to combine assembly operations of different ES devices. This method uses a comparative and bottom up approach that, despite its generality, outlines the main similarities among the existing ES devices and some interesting springboard for future developments.
