Summary
This work is part of a broader research project that, since the 2000s, has focused on the abbey of San Caprasio in Aulla (Tuscany) through restoration activities and archaeological excavations. This thesis presents the results of the osteoarchaeological study of a sample of twelve individuals recovered during the excavations carried out in 2000 and 2021. The overall aim of the bioarchaeological project on the burials of San Caprasio is to reconstruct the living conditions and health of the individuals connected to the abbey between the 10th and 15th centuries. To achieve this goal, the study re-examined the data published in 2007 under the scientific supervision of Francesco Mallegni and integrated them with the analysis of the new skeletal sample recovered during the 2021 excavations.
