This work consists in performing simulations of smart home attacks, focusing on a DHT based data sharing among IoT devices. Different attack scenarios will be modeled, based on the objectives of the attacker, the type of attack strategy and the present threat mitigation techniques. For each scenario we will consider a specific evaluation metric,in order to perform experiments and evaluate the effectiveness of the attack. A particular attention will be paid to scenarios in which an Intrusion Detection System is present.In this case we will analyze possible ways for the attacker to bypass the detection and even leverage it in order to esclude victim devices, causing a denial of service in the network.
