RIASSUNTO

Il presente lavoro è basato sull’addestramento di cani appartenenti alle Unità Cinofile dei Vigili del Fuoco, per la ricerca di dispersi sotto le macerie di terremoti o simili catastrofi. Questi vengono addestrati con metodo positivo, basato sulla Motivazione. L’addestramento di questi cani è indubbiamente lungo e faticoso, ma permette di ottenere ottimi risultati, soprattutto per la perfetta sintonia che si instaura tra il cane e il proprio conduttore.
Inoltre, visto il lavoro a cui sono sottoposti questi cani durante il servizio, con questo studio abbiamo voluto valutare il livello di radicali liberi e stress ossidativo eventualmente presenti nel sangue. A questo scopo abbiamo testato alcuni cani appartenenti all'Unità Cinofila di Busalla (Genova) e Savona. I campioni di sangue prelevati sono stati sottoposti a centrifugazione e il siero ottenuto è stato analizzato con il d-ROMs test e con il BAP test.

ABSTRACT

Our work is based on the training of dogs belonging to fireman rescue units, theese dogs are supposed to work and search for people run over by ruins during earthquakes or similar catastrophes. These dogs are trained in their work with a positive method, based on the trust for their guide and Motivation. The training on the dogs is certainly very hard and takes some times but the results are really convincing, especially for the perfect feeling that rises between the dog and his guide. During training job, the dogs have been tested for free radicals levels and oxidative stress levels on blood. We tested dogs belonging to Dog-Units from Busalla (Genova) and Savona. The blood samples have then been submitted to centrifugation and sera collected have been analysed with d- ROMs test and BAP test.
