La tesi si pone come obiettivo lo studio del legionario romano dall’epoca repubblicana fino a Traiano, prendendo in considerazione non solo le fonti letterarie, ma anche quelle archeologiche e iconografiche, al fine di ricostruirne l’armamento e la vita quotidiana.
The thesis has as its objective the study of the Roman legionary from the Republic to the Empire (Trajan), taking into account not only the literary sources, but also the archaeological and iconographic sources, in order to reconstruct his weapons and his everyday life.
