La tesi intende presentare uno studio sulla storia, le definizioni, le caratteristiche strutturali e le nuove frontiere evolutive delle performances messe in scena in spazi non convenzionali, con un focus sugli eventi coreutici performati all’interno di alcuni musei e gallerie. Essi vengono inseriti nella riflessione circa la relazione tra il museo e la società e proposti come possibili iniziative con cui l’istituzione può incrementare i suoi servizi educativi e culturali rivolti alla cittadinanza. L’analisi storico-critica del fenomeno è seguita dall’elaborazione, a cura della candidata stessa, di un progetto coreutico-performativo da realizzare presso i locali di un’istituzione museale.

The thesis intends to present a study on the history, definitions, structural characteristics and new evolutionary frontiers of performances staged in unconventional spaces, with a focus on dance events performed within some museums and galleries. They are included in the reflection on the relationship between the museum and society, proposing them as possible initiatives with which the institution can increase its educational and cultural services aimed at citizens. The historical-critical analysis of the phenomenon is followed by the development, by the candidate herself, of a dance-performance project to be carried out on the premises of a museum institution.
