Abstract (Inglese)
Abstract (Italiano)
The thesis work aims to develop and implement a path planning algorithm for a five-axis robot for the reconstruction of anatomical defects, in in-situ bioprinting applications. This innovative method can regenerate the entire volume of the defect, faithfully following its shape and geometry, and combining traditional planar layers with the generation of non-planar surfaces. Compared to conventional slicing software, this algorithm can eliminate the staircase effect problem, typical of geometries consisting of planar layers only, generating anatomical areas with excellent aesthetic and mechanical properties. The algorithm was tested on geometries with different degrees of complexity, including the simulation of a clinical case of a bone defect, with excellent results. Future developments aim to reconstruct anatomical areas with different materials based on the number of tissues present, each with its own specific path planning.
