The history of Iran's nuclear program from the early Fifties to the beginning of the Biden Administration is described. The efforts of the iranian governments to gain complete control of nuclear technologies are highlighted as well as the continuous commitment of the US Administrations to contain and stop the iranian activities. The ambiguity of the covert program activated by the iranians along with the official one and the double standard applied by the US to avoid the nuclear proliferation are also taken into account. A particular focus is put on the technological specificities of the nuclear technologies and on the subsequent difficulties to adopt effective measures to monitor and control the nuclear proliferation.
