Studio su Jill in quanto romanzo rappresentativo del canone Movement, in cui già si avvertono i toni e le tematiche che saranno costanti per tutta l’opera di Philip Larkin. Quadro generale della letteratura antecedente e posteriore il secondo conflitto bellico. Un excursus sulle tematiche della poesia larkiniana mostrerà come queste si riscontrano già nel suo primo romanzo. Dopo l’analisi narratologica, effettuata principalmente sugli studi della teoria letteraria di Genette, segue un approfondimento delle tematiche di Jill, in relazione al Movement.

Jill by Philip Larkin as a representative novel of the Movement literature. This early novel of Larkin already sets styles and subjects registered in his later works. A description of the literary scene before and after World War II will be followed by an analysis on narratology according to the studies made by Gérard Genette on the subject. This will be followed by a detailed study on the main topics which set the Movement mood, and how we can find all of these themes in Jill.
